Passing of VP-4 Vet CDR Earl C. Carpenter USN (Ret) VP-4 1960 – 1962

I want to let you and the VP-4 Community know that CDR Earl C. Carpenter passed away on May 19 in Norman, Oklahoma, of natural causes.  He was comfortable and surrounded by family.
Even I remember the early 60’s in Naha when Dad was in VP-4.  It was an important time for him and he treasured it for his entire life.  Dad was on Crew 4 and Crew 7 and served as the Maintenance Officer.  Your recent communications to him provided a reminder of the important work he had done and of the enduring friendships he made.
As a VP-4 Alumni myself thanks for your work keeping the squadron informed.  Please pass this information to those members you feel will be interested.
Thanks.  Carp
John Carpenter, CDR USN (Ret)
