Start the day with a one-hour narrated harbor cruise of San Diego Bay. Take in the Star of India, the oldest iron-hull merchant ship still afloat, the U.S. Navy surface fleet, San Diego-Coronado Bay Bridge, and busy shipyards. After disembarking you will continue onto Old Town, the birthplace of California as the American flag was first raised here in 1846. Five original adobe buildings are part of this historic park, which includes museums, retail shops, and restaurants. Note: Those with walking disabilities will find it difficult to get around in Old Town and down the ramp to the boat. Restrooms are not ADA accessible.

SAN DIEGO AIR & SPACE MUSEUM & CORONADO TOUR

Spend the morning in Balboa Park to explore the San Diego Air & Space Museum. The museum offers a dazzling collection of historic U.S. and foreign aircraft and aviation memorabilia, which bring to life the more significant events associated with flight and space exploration. The International Hall of Fame honors, in portraiture and narrative, those men and women who have made a substantive contribution to the advance of aerospace sciences. See some of the legendary aircraft of this era, including the inspiring Spitfire and the vaunted Japanese Zero. Then we’ll head over to the Ferry Landing Marketplace for a late lunch on your own while enjoying spectacular views of San Diego across the bay. After lunch we’ll do a quick driving tour of Coronado, to include a drive by of the US Naval Amphibious Base where the US Navy SEALs are trained on our way back to the hotel.
