PCCM Gilbert N. Hough USN (Ret) VP-4
Gil Hough served as the VP-4 Command Master Chief from July 1985 to July 1989.
February 3, 1943 ~ June 10, 2021 (age 78)
Gil lost his 6 month battle with prostate cancer on June 10, 2021. He was at home with Susan, the love of his life when he passed.
Gil proudly served in the Navy for 30 years. During this time, he and his family were honored to travel the world. They were stationed in Japan, Morocco, Scotland, Virginia, San Francisco, Hong Kong, and Hawaii. Gil also served in Vietnam for a year.
After retiring from the Navy, Gil was the Director of Veterans Employment Training with the U.S Department of Labor in Honolulu.
Gil was happiest when he was surrounded by his family and friends and by helping Veterans and their families. He also got great joy in collecting coins and talking stories with his many friends.
He was preceded in death by his father Lee, his mother DeDe, and his son Michael.
He is survived by his wife, Susan, his daughter Susan, her husband Harvey, his daughter-in-law Tina, granddaughter Nalani and her husband Kiefer, his grandson Sean, and his wife Jackie, and four great-grandchildren.
