Hotel Information
The reunion officially begins on Thursday, October 13th and ends on Sunday, October 16th. You will be staying at the full service Crowne Plaza Hotel Jacksonville Riverfront, located at 1201 Riverplace Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32207. The Crowne Plaza Hotel is ideally located on the south bank of the St. Johns River, in downtown Jacksonville. The hotel offers spectacular views of the city and the river, and is located close to many of the city’s top attractions. While staying at the hotel you may consider taking the water taxi, from the hotel, across the river to Jacksonville Landing. Located along the north bank of the St. Johns River, Jacksonville Landing offers several restaurants, an extensive food court, and unique shops. View the hotel on-line at www.cpjacksonville.com.
The room rate is $109.00 plus tax per night, based on single or double occupancy (for city view room, river view rooms are available for $129.00 plus tax per night). The rate includes complimentary continental breakfast daily. For those of you who choose to arrive early or stay late, the same room rate is available 3 days before and 3 days after the official reunion dates, based on availability. Please make your hotel reservations NOW by calling the hotel directly at 904-398-8800 extension 4027 between 8:30am-5 pm EST and ask for in-house reservations. Mention that you are with the VP4 Reunion to assure you are associated with your group. You may request specific room types when you call to make your reservations (handicap accessible room, etc.). The hotel check-in time is 4:00pm; please don’t expect to get into your room before then. Make your reservations today; you can cancel up to 24 hours prior to arrival without penalty. They will ask you for a deposit or credit card number to guarantee your room reservation. The hotel is holding rooms until they sell out or September 2nd, 2011, whichever comes first. Don’t delay.
Transportation & Directions
The closest airport is Jacksonville International (JAX); the hotel is located about 15 miles from the airport. Shuttle service is available through Go Airport Shuttle. A special rate has been arranged for VP4. The rate is $20 for the first passenger and $8 for each additional passenger (each way). No reservations are needed. The Go Airport Shuttle booth is located outside on the baggage claim level at Pole #4. Advise the agent you are with VP4 in order to receive the special rate. For those of you driving to the reunion, you will receive complimentary self parking for the duration of the reunion. Valet parking is also available for a fee. Contact the hotel directly if you need specific driving directions.
